surroundbar50

Managing the cumbersome cables inside your living room is not an easy task while setting up a home theater system. Polk Audio’s SurroundBar50 has a neat solution to the problem by delivering surround sound from a single speaker. Designed to enhance your High Definition TV experience, the SurroundBar50 looks to be the perfect match for flat-panel and shallow screen TVs. Moreover, it works with any surround sound receiver in any room to throw out 5 channel surround sound from a single speaker. The unique bar can be mounted on the wall or placed on a shelf. The SurroundBar50 will be available in October for $950 and you can have the optional SurroundBar TV mounting bracket for $50.

Galactic Suite space hotel to open for business in 2012

galactic suite 1

Hopefully, the year 2012 is going to be remembered forever in the history of space tourism industry. It would be the year when EADS Astrium space jet will take off to the space and in the very same year, the “Galactic Suite,” the first hotel planned in space is expected to open for business. Barcelona-based architect Xavier Claramunt is saying that the space hotel will be the most expensive in the galaxy and will cost $4 million for a three-day stay 300 miles in orbit.

How interesting it would be to see the sun rise 15 times a day and crawl around the pod rooms by sticking themselves to the walls like Spiderman by using Velcro suits. The proposed configuration is a three-bedroom boutique hotel with pods and the designer says that the system is designed for modularity and expansion “based on the natural growth of a grapevine.”

But, how will the passengers take a shower in weightlessness? But, there is nothing to worry as they have got the solution. The guests will enter a spa room in which bubbles of water will float around. But again, the biggest problem is the bathrooms in zero gravity and they haven?t commented anything in this context. Moreover, the space tourists will also take part in scientific experiments, according to the Galactic Suite press release.

Tattered leather trench coat from ‘The Crow’ up for sale

trench coat 1

The trench coats have established themselves as a classic since they were spotted a century ago and the pictured above is a leather trench coat worn by Brandon Lee when he played Eric Draven in ‘The Crow,’ a 1994 American film. The trench coat was used during the early scenes of the movie before it was shot up, shred, and damaged. You can still find the pits and coarseness all over the jacket and even little pits in the buttons.

So, I am not clear whether you will be paying for the jacket or the damage but, it’s worth a pick for Brandon Lee’s fans as The Crow was his last film when he was tragically shot with a real bullet instead of a blank. You can have his tattered trench coat for $8,499.

Grundig, one of the renowned manufacturers of consumer electronics for home entertainment has taken wraps off Audiorama speakers, which were in great demand back in 70s. The pleasing speakers come in the shape of spheres. The updated Audiorama loudspeakers have been launched to commemorate the 100th birthday of founder Max Grundig. The speakers have a 360-degrees sound field, which they had in 70s also. Priced at $820 a pop, they seem to be the just right thing for the audiophiles to add to the décor of your living room.
