Unaffordable Watch Unlocks And Starts Unaffordable Car

If you have James Bond ambitions, backed by an MI6-sized bankroll, this $50,000 watch is for you, since it’ll lock, unlock, and even start your car. The watch works exclusively with the new Aston Martin DBS (featured in Casino Royale), which costs only about 10 times as much as the watch itself. Apparently, a (somehow) even more expensive version of the watch is in the works, but in the mean time, you’ll have to content yourself with choosing between the regular grade 5 titanium model or the more exclusive rose-gold edition.

Picture of the DBS after the jump, just because it’s pretty.

Anti-Seasickness Ferretti 630 luxury yacht

ferretti 630 1

You have always wanted to own a high-tech luxury yacht to cruise the waters but the thing that stops you is that you are sea-sick. Although you have lots of money floating around you but you can?t go for a yacht. But, with the new Ferretti 630 yacht, you won?t get nauseous as they have fitted in a system that keeps the objects in place when the ocean is jittery. When the sea gets violent, the gyroscope spins against the lean and helps keep the boat on an even keel. The three-cabin yacht has a massage lounge and a sun lounge on the flybridge. An extremely aggressive external line owing to an innovatively unique spherical glasswork delivers 360-degree visibility of the sea from the bow to the stern. The yacht boasts a maximum speed of 33,5 knots with two 1224 horsepower common rail MAN engines. The yacht is being promoted with a tagline that reads “The Space revolution.” The luxury yacht is priced at around £1.57 million.

Logitech Announces AudioHub for Notebooks

Logitech AudioHub for Notebooks (Image via Logitech)

Logitech announced a new product today called the AudioHub that combines two things that most notebook users will need like a USB hub and a set of decent speakers. The system uses a three-chamber speaker system that has an integrated subwoofer.

The AudioHub draws power for the speakers, the built-in three port USB hub and gets sounds from your PC from one single USB connection. This also means that disconnecting the AudioHub to take your notebook on the road requires only one plug to be undone.

The device is designed so that the speakers are width adjustable allowing you to position them to the sides of your notebook, rather than behind it for better sound quality. On the rear of the device is a cable organizer to help keep things tidy. Logitech says the AudioHub will be available in October for $99.99.

GM Opel Flextreme Concept With Segway Storage

Opel Flextreme Concept (Images courtesy EcoGeek)

I had a chance to check out the Chevy Volt earlier this year at the Auto Show in Detroit and I’m glad to see that GM seems really gung-ho about their E-Flex platform. But in addition to the North American Volt the company plans to roll-out the new technology worldwide and the Opel Flextreme concept is what Europeans might someday be driving.

In addition to the 120 kW peak electric motor and 16 kWH lithium-ion battery pack the Flextreme also uses a 53kW diesel/biodiesel generator to recharge the battery on the road and extend the vehicle’s driving range. (The diesel generator is not connected to the drivetrain at all.) What’s particularly interesting about the Flextreme though is that it actually has an integrated compartment for carrying a couple of Segways for travelling in areas where cars aren’t allowed.

Relying only on its batteries the Opel Flextreme will have a range of about 34 miles on a single charge which is more than enough for the average European commuter but for longer trips using the biodiesel generator extends that range to about 444 miles.

Color Changing LED Garden Stones

Faux Color Changing Garden Stone (Image courtesy WieDaMark)
Outdoor speakers ‘cleverly’ disguised as fake stones are nothing new but this is the first time I’ve seen garden lights disguised that way. When powered off these unique stones look like your run-of-the-mill chunk of granite but when turned on a set of color changing red, blue and green LEDs inside cause the entire stone to glow like it just plummeted to Earth from the deepest reaches of space.

The stones are completely waterproof and will even float if for some reason you always thought your pool or pond could benefit from glowing, floating rocks. A 33 foot submersible cord also allows you to place the rocks all around your backyard while still being able to power them on and off from a single location.

The stones are currently available in 3 different ‘designs’ for $34.95 a piece.
