Batman themed super home theater space

batman-home-theater-1_48

Here is something specially meant for all the Batman buffs. The DC Audio Video Systems? Batcave theater room made you drool last time and now, a company dubbed BKZ Contractors has modded the house of a Batman fan by using the basement to create a Batman styled home theater. The fundamental point of this theme theater is the homeowner?s ultimate collection of Batman figurines. Isn?t that more than enough to make any comic book buff envy?

batman-home-theater-2_48

The Batman home theater room measures 16 feet wide and 20 feet deep with a low ceiling. Despite the fact that the very space was damaged to some extent owing to flooding, the theater room looks so gorgeous that you can?t even think it was once in a messy state. To save space and to accommodate seating, the installer fabricated top-lit boxes to showcase the figurines, in the form of in-wall sidelights or sconces. The in-wall speakers and Novawall acoustic paneling on the front wall makes the startling home theater look munch pricier than it is.

The installer also addressed the homeowner?s gaming needs and added both Xbox and PlayStation gaming consoles into the system. The batman themed theater room is equipped with Da-Lite 92-inch diagonal screen, InFocus SP7210 DLP projector, Marantz DV7500 DVD player, and Niles DS8.5 DS Theater Speaker. So now, do you think you need to have some kinda superpowers to have a super home theater space?

Chevy V8 engine modded into a BBQ grill

chevy-bbq-grill-1_48

Recently, a crazy auto-enthusiast turned the front section of a classic Holden Monaro GTS for grilling burgers and steaks and now, we have a Chevy BBQ grill. Yes, it has been made from a real Chevy V8 engine block, which was retrofitted with a grill and propane burners to produce 60,000 BTU. The engine has been modded into a barbeque by Trent Whatley and Terry Bacon.

It?s a fully functional grill but the duo wants to work a bit more with its looks. This cool hack literally makes me drool it?s gonna leave all the seasoned barbecue artists green-eyed.

portable-bar-trunk_12
It seems like almost everyone is getting secretive about their drinking habits now-a-days! We have earlier told you about hidden wine cabinets including the Pop-Up TV Liquor Cabinet and the Sonoma Hide-a-Bar Cabinet to keep your drinking ritual a hush-hush affair! Another hidden liquor cabinet comes from the Parisian designer Jean Marie Massaud which can even be carried anywhere with you! The ?Isidoro? as it is called is a liquor cabinet hidden in a fabric-lined leather trunk. It comes with glass and bottle holders, a folding shelf, walnut- veneer drawers and chromium accessories. The price tag is a knock-out at $10,400. That reminds us of another portable bar, Justin Case Portable Bar System we told you about long back not sure though if it has materialized from concept to real but if it has then it?s worth considering!

Dyno Kwick Pick – A Great Alternative To A Crowded Keychain

Dyno Kwick Pick (Image courtesy brandsonSale)By Andrew Liszewski

If you’ve amassed quite a collection of keys over the years and are tired of carrying them all around ‘just in case’ you might want to consider this alternative. Just think, when was the last time you saw a spy or a cat burglar carrying a huge ring of keys? Never! Because they’ve already realized the convenience of just carrying a lock pick to open doors and other secured areas. But if your lock picking skills are non-existent the Kwick Pick from Dyno promises to make you a pro in no time.

Invented by a professional locksmith the Kwick Pick can apparently be used by even a novice to quickly open padlocks, filing cabinets and even some car doors and front door locks. The easy to use design has a spring-loaded sure lock, retractable pick and combination tension wrench/pocket clip which are apparently important things to have. Of course OhGizmo! would like to remind you the Kwick Pick is only for use as a novelty item and/or study aid. If you get caught somewhere you’re not supposed to be don’t go dropping our name to the feds.

You can get your own from LockPickShop for only $19.95.

TransPlastic collection brings back the old tradition of wicker furniture

transplastic1_48

The Campana Brothers, Fernando and Humberto are once again here to impress us with their stylish, cutting-edge, conceptual work at the Albion Gallery in London. True to the Campana Brothers? repute, the Transplastic collection sums up the brothers’ design trajectory, which mulls over material clashes like plastic and natural fiber. The prototype pieces on display combine traditional woven Apuí fibre with cheap plastic chairs, crude timber constructions and steel structures.

transplastic2_48

The collection includes regular chairs, multiple-seating chairs, lamps, illuminated meteors, clouds and islands that have been crafted by taking benefit of the elasticity of natural fibre. Every piece is handcrafted with a very distinctive Brazilian fibre called apuí. The woven fibre seems to be repressing the plastic furniture beneath.

transplastic3_48

Interestingly, the extraction of this fibre helps conserve the biodiversity of the forests as apuí suffocates and kills the trees from which they grow. Moreover, these fibres are exctracted without using any tools or processes that might harm the trees.

transplastic4_48

In the old times, all the brazilian terraces and semi-outdoor cafes were endowed with wicker pieces. But, slowly and slowly, long-lasting plastic replaced the wicker pieces. The Campana Brothers hope to reinstate the old custom of wicker furniture in a hybrid and playful manner with the Transplastic collection. The exhibition will run until August 10, 2007.
