Sharp had previously displayed the world?s thinnest and lightest LCD, and at the IFA 2007 they unveiled a one?inch thick LCD panel that will be released in 2010. The next-generation TV, which the Japanese consumer-electronics maker hopes to begin mass-producing, is certain to help Sharp maintain profits, with the prices of conventional LCDs falling continuously.
