Sim Card Spy Ear Remote Listening Device

Sim Card Spy Ear (Images courtesy Brando.com.hk)

Another day another covert gadget designed for spying on friends, family, co-workers and anyone else you just don’t trust. The Spy Ear though doesn’t require years of special spy training at MI6 to use. All you have to do is stick your SIM card into the device and call it from another phone. Once you’re connected you can just sit back and listen to what’s going on in the room where you’ve secretly planted it.

In theory since it relies on the GSM phone network the Spy Ear should work all over the world as long as the rechargeable batteries hold out and it’s in the range of a cell tower. Of course if you do plan to use the device internationally you might want to make sure you have a good roaming plan.

The Spy Ear is currently available from Brando.com.hk for $85.

I would highly suggest using a prepaid card when using this device for the device as well as for the phone you are using for connecting to it.

You will be happy when it cannot be traced back to you. Additionally it might be wise to be sitting in a bus or train while listening to be more untraceable – it will probably not be possible to find out who in the train was holding the phone …

What about the interference that pops up from some GSM networks through speakers? That would be a dead giveaway.

Peter,
No, there are no speakers in the device but I think Jables is referring to speakers connected to PC’s sitting on the desk above that pick up mobile phones in the vicinity when they ring.

How much are these? Cause you can make one really cheaply from an old cellphone. All you have to do is plug in a non-wireless headset and turn auto answer on. It might look less suspicious too.
